trauma-informed mental health treatment built on current research and human connection
“Trauma is a fact of life. It does not, however, have to be a life sentence.” - Dr. Peter A. Levine, world-renowned expert on recovery from trauma.
rediscover innate wellbeing
Based in Denver, Colorado, unitas mental health seeks to help others rediscover what they already have, but are temporarily unable to access: innate well-being. Unburdened by trauma, we are able to experience life as nature intended - with openness, joy, and clarity.
connection with our deepest self allows us to be:
compassionate, curious, clear, courageous
calm, creative, confident, & connected

Andrew Bryson, MA, LPCC
My journey to understand mental health began with an attempt to manage my own struggles in adolescence. Since then, I have been drawn to subjects and ideas related to human well-being. A stint in a Zen monastery led to undergraduate studies in philosophy, psychology, and social/environmental justice, which led to graduate studies in clinical mental health counseling. As a therapist, I draw upon many influences, ranging from evidence-based clinical modalities to practices and teachings from world wisdom traditions. Ultimately, my goal as a therapist is to attune to each unique client and deliver the most relevant and effective care possible, drawing from an ever-expanding toolbox. There’s no one-size-fits-all model of mental health, and I take great care to learn from each client what works for them.

there is no one-size-fits-all model of mental health
As a process based therapist, I aim to understand the many intersecting factors that sustain your distress. Diagnoses are helpful, but unable to capture the complexity of human psychology. I use multiple evidence-based modalities and work with you to determine which fit your needs.
