issues
I work with trauma/PTSD, depression, anxiety, behavioral addiction, substance use, sex/porn addiction, relationship/marriage issues, and other general mental health concerns. Even if there is not an obvious presenting problem, I work with folks who are interested in general growth or simply want to explore new ways of coping or understanding themselves. Book a consultation if you’d like to discuss whether we’d be a fit.
At this time I do not have the training, supervision, or resources to work with level 2 or 3 autism, postpartum depression, psychosis, schizophrenia, homicidal ideation, chronic suicidality, or severe disordered eating. If you are experiencing one of these things and are interested in referrals, please reach out.
identities
I welcome all racial, ethnic, gender, and sexual identities into my practice. My stance as a professional is anti-racist, LGBTQIIA+ affirming, anti-ableist, and pro-working class. As a person of great privilege (middle class, white, cishet), I take care to recognize and correct my unclaimed biases. I seek supervision and consultation that helps me decolonize my practice, and I disregard methodologies that are not amenable to non-dominant perspectives.
If you would like to work with a counselor who more closely aligns with your lived identities, I am happy to provide referrals.
accessibility
I offer my services on a wide sliding scale. I seek to serve the working class, whom mental health services are often inaccessible to. I request that folks who make a comfortable living and have a high amount of disposable income pay at the higher end of the sliding scale, as this helps less privileged folks access services.
If we are not able to work together because of cost, and I am unable to take on a pro-bono client, I am happy to provide referrals for low-cost counseling services.
